Candidate for homecoming queen stands up to bullies

JASPER, Ala. (WIAT) — Teased about her weight, a Walker County student stood up to bullies, as a candidate for homecoming queen.

The 17 year old sent a strong message to everyone who’s been in her shoes. “Women are beautiful no matter their size. and any young woman can do anything she sets her mind to.”

Bailey Hood became a princess in Curry High School’s race for homecoming queen.

Hood is the first alternate, although she’s not the queen, her friends and family agree she’s sending an inspiring message to anyone who’s ever been bullied.

Bailey is happy with how the event turned out, and with the point she proved to her bullies.
