BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – A service designed to cut the amount of unwanted messages in a user’s Facebook inbox was extended.
Facebook users in nearly 40 countries will soon have access to the site’s “Pay to Message” feature.
The feature allows users the ability to message people who are not in their network, such as celebrities or a friend of a friend.
Facebook implemented the “Pay to Message” feature in the United States in December.
The function costs about a dollar to use.
Facebook has not instituted a set price for the feature so some countries are setting their own prices – some as high as $15 per message.
