Groundbreaking held for new environmental services building in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – With the second anniversary of the April 27, 2011 tornadoes drawing closer, the City of Tuscaloosa is focusing on the progress made since the storms.

On Monday, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Richard S. Curry Environmental Services building.

The building was leveled when the storm touched down in Tuscaloosa.

The new facility will have a bigger recycling plant and modern garbage processing equipment.
