Scholarship money still available for Ala. students interested in broadcasting

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – The Alabama Broadcasters Association is offering ten $3000 scholarships to students interested in entering the field of broadcasting.

The scholarship applies to Alabama residents who are studying broadcasting or broadcast engineering at colleges and universities in Alabama.

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Must be a legal resident of Alabama and must apply personally
  • Must be pursuing a major or minor course of study in broadcasting/communications
  • Must be attending any two or four-year Alabama college or university
  • Must demonstrate the intention of entering broadcast communication as his/her life’s work
  • Must be a rising junior or senior if attending a four year college or university.
  • Must not have received any ABA scholarships in the past
  • Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4 point scale or equivalent

The deadline to submit an application is April 30, 2013.
