Petunias blooming in Tuscaloosa two years after tornado

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – Tuscaloosa was also hit by a tornado on April 27, 2011.

Nearly a year after the tornadoes, the people of Tuscaloosa began to notice large amounts of petunias popping up around the path of the storm.

The plants died as seasons changed, but now, two years after the storms, the petunias are back again.

It is believed the flowers came from a nursery in Holt.

The owners think the tornado sucked up the petunias and spread them back out across the city.
