BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Corn prices are on the rise this year, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Prices are reportedly up over 6 percent, partly because of fear on the part of farmers.
An overabundance of rain and cooler temperatures in the Midwest, a region traditionally known for producing much of the nation’s corn product, is delaying planting.
The delay means a possible shortage in the crop and higher prices for consumers.
