WINDSOR, Conn.– It’s never easy when a child leaves the nest for the first time. It can be especially difficult for mother’s of service members, but on this Mother’s Day, these women are being honored in Connecticut, even with their son’s and daughters far away. It’s the fourth year that the Selig family is giving away pearls to thousands of women, mothers, and spouses of those serving in the name of freedom. The family does this in honor of their father who served in WWII. Each year the Selig’s try to give away a thousand and say they’ll keep doing it until all the troops come home.
