(WIAT) – A wave of ice is threatening homes in Minnesota.

Amateur video captures a wave of ice blanketing backyards in the Lake Mille Lacs area.

Houses along the shore were damaged on Saturday, because ice from the lake is moving like a glacier and creeping up on the shoreline.

Ice outs are still happening on northern Minnesota lakes because of a cold and snowy spring.

The ice piled up about three feet high.
