Birmingham, AL (WIAT)-It’s championship week in high school baseball with two local teams vying for the 6A state title.
Pelham’s only state title came back in 2006.
” It’s going to be crazy with the media and everything involved with the state championship game,” said first year Pelham head coach Sean Anderson. “It’s going to be crazy. We’ve got to focus on what we’ve got to do but they’ve got to go down there and have fun.”
Hewitt-Trussville doesn’t own a title nor have they ever made a trip to the finals.
“I think it would be the ultimate baseball moment and the highlight of their career,” said first year Hewitt-Trussville head coach Jeff Mauldin.
Both teams have worked hard to get this far in the season and want nothing more than to end their season hoisting the championship trophy.
The Huskies and Panthers will begin their best of three series on Friday in Montgomery at 4 p.m.
