Habitat for Humanity gives three new homes in Alberta City

ALBERTA CITY, Ala. (WIAT) – Three more families in Albert City are moving into new homes on Thursday, after a tornado decimated much of the city on April 27, 2011.

Habitat for Humanity held back-to-back ribbon cuttings in Alberta for three families.

They have finished 31 new houses since the tornadoes.

The organization is currently working on three more homes in the same neighborhood.

The Tuscaloosa City Council recently awarded Habitat with $1 million additional dollars in HUD funding.

Once the projects are approved by HUD, they will be required to spend the money within two years.
