BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Cyclists are enlisting the help of high schools to teach motorists about sharing the road.
The Druid City Bike Club in Tuscaloosa held an art contest to encourage motorists to obey the three-foot passing law.
In other words, the club wants to encourage drivers to leave at least three feet of space before passing a bike.
Students at Holy Spirit High School designed billboards to educate the public.
Junior Lizzy Boyles had the winning design – an electronic billboard at the intersection of 15th Street and McFarland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa.
