BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Parents and teachers often reward students for their achievements, and on Monday, one principal took the plunge to celebrate a job well done.
On Monday afternoon, Dr. Michael Wilson took a dip in the outdoor classroom pond at Glen Iris Elementary School in Birmingham.
Dr. Wilson made a bet with the students – if they read a lot of books, he said he would take a dip in the pond.
In all, the students read a 49,245 books.
