TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – People in Tuscaloosa have a lot of sympathy for the victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes.
At the West Alabama chapter of the Red Cross, that translates into donations.
Red Cross officials say they’ve noticed more walk-in donations for the Moore, Oklahoma storm survivors than from previous disasters, such as Hurricane Sandy.
They are asking people to make monetary donations.
Just $2 in donation money can buy snacks, and $10 can buy two hot meals.
Red Cross volunteers are still on stand-by and may not be able to go to Moore for weeks.
