ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – As Alabama cracks down on meth production and use, drug users are finding another way to get their fix.
Heroin is making a comeback.
In Etowah County, heroin accounted for almost 30 percent of trafficking arrests over the past two months.
It’s a trend that police all over central and north Alabama are tackling.
They say the rise in heroin resembles the spread of meth in the 1990s and early 2000s.
