AUBURN, Ala. (AP) – Three concrete poles have been installed at Auburn University to replace poisoned oak trees that were recently removed from Toomer’s Corner.

The poles form a triangle, which will be fitted with wires to allow Auburn University fans to continue the tradition of rolling – when fans drape the trees in toilet paper during various celebrations.

Assistant city manager Kevin Cowper tells the Opelika Auburn News the wires will be spaced about three or four inches apart to catch toilet paper.

The trees were all but dead after being poisoned by a University of Alabama fan during Auburn’s 2010 run to the BCS college football championship.

University officials have said oak trees will be planted as part of an effort to renovate Toomer’s Corner.
