BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – -When the temperatures heat up, so do the concerns about air quality.
However, there may be something about the air quality of your home that many do not realize.
The air quality inside a home or office building is often worse than the air quality outside.
That’s because of chemicals in everything from carpet to furniture.
Additionally, buildings are tighter than ever, trapping those harmful toxins inside.
For many people, air filtration systems can be quite expensive, but there are cheaper ways, such as house plants, to clean the air inside the home.
Good options include yellow or lady palms, rubber plants, rubber palms, peace lilies, English ivy, snake plant and golden pothos.
Simple things, such as opening windows on good air days, can go a long way in increasing the quality of the air inside the home.
