BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – A judge in Shelby Count is set to review whether or not an 86-year-old Shelby County man is competent to stand trial.
Police arrested William Virgil Proctor for the stabbing death of his wife in 2010.
The 77-year-old Gwendolyn Elizabeth Tuggle Proctor was killed as she slept in the couple’s Ballantrae home.
In 2012, Proctor was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
He was set to appear in court in November 2012 and January 2013.
Those hearings were delayed until doctors returned the evaluation to the courts.
Now, the hearing has been set for November, 14 2013.
