Study shows social media profiles are costing people jobs

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – People who are looking for work would be wise to make sure their social media profiles are clean.

Eight percent of young Americans, ages 16-24, lost a job opportunity because of their social media profiles, according to a study conducted by On Device Research.

However, a majority of the people who were polled do not worry about how internet activity could affect future career prospects.

China has the most incidents of employment being impacted by social media.

Brazil has the lowest occurrences.
