BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – A new program leads Birmingham high school students down the road to financial success, and it also helps prepare them for college.
The program, called Summer Quest, is an online program that allows teens to participate in education games.
The games allow the students to earn points towards scholarships, cash and other prizes.
They can also research colleges and learn how to apply for financial aid.
During the program, mentors help the students through the process.
“We’ll interact with them, primarily through Facebook and Twitter and email, to guide them through Quest, which are the games that they plan to learn about financial literacy,” Elizabeth Wilson said. “And then, we will also be there to answer any questions they have about preparing for college, since we just had those experiences.”
The camp runs from June 12 through July 10.
