BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Homes and neighborhoods around the Birmingham area have been renovated and beautified over the past few days, all thanks to National NeighborWorks Week.
Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) of Birmingham conducted a landscaping project in West End in an attempt to spruce up the community.
At the Princeton Villa Apartments, NHS workers put in new flowers, trees and a sitting area with a bench.
The organization is happy to get their hands in the dirt, all in the name of community revitalization.
“We’re doing this because we have some investment in all these types of communities, and we just want to assist in the rehabilitation,” Amber Courtney said.
The projects are going on throughout the Birmingham area and are being funded by federal money from the National NeighborWorks Association.
