BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office teamed up to round up suspected drug dealers in the Southtown Public Housing Development on Tuesday.
Investigators say the tips they received came from people living in the development.
About 100 officers took part in the roundup.
Some drugs that were confiscated include narcotic prescriptions, crack cocaine, meth and marijuana.
The operation focused on 24th Street South, 9th Avenue South and 9th Court South.
Six people were arrested.
