(WIAT) – The Office of Senior Citizen Services is asking for people to donate fans that can help seniors stay cool in the hot summer months.

According to Information Referral Specialist Dedra Lewis, the organization is running out of fans quickly, and even though they have more on the way, they want as many as possible for the long summer ahead.

She says many seniors are on a fixed income and are afraid to run their air conditioners during the summer.

Most heating and air conditioning programs will offer an annual maintenance agreement which includes two visits per year.

Customers who sign an agreement will normally get priority when something goes wrong.
