BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Everyone deserves a break every now and then, but down time comes few and far between for parents of children with special needs.
Samford University is opening its doors to families of children with special healthcare needs all week long as a part of its Camp Us event.
Volunteers and nursing students are helping out with the special event.
The children are participating in a number of programs, including arts and crafts and Vacation Bible School.
The program has a one-to-one supervision ratio, along with a one-to-one nursing care ratio.
