BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Researchers have discovered five genetic regions in the brain linked to the start of migraines.
The study, which was published in the journal Nature Genetics, could help doctors better understand the cause and biological triggers of the debilitating headaches.
Statistics provided in the introduction to the study state that migraines affect 14 percent of of adults, making it the most common brain disorder.
