ALABASTER, Ala. (WIAT) – Alabaster’s City Council had a plan that would require homeowners to pay for damage to sidewalks in front of their house.
However, the city didn’t like that plan.
In April, Alabaster’s City Council revived a 100-year-old state law.
On Monday, the city may have an option.
The law states that if a homeowner didn’t pay for repairs to sidewalks in front of their home, the city would take care of it and bill the homeowner.
When the council meets on July 1, 2013, it will lay out an appeals process for the ordinance.
