CULLMAN, Ala. (WIAT) – Cullman County is moving forward with its goal to get a school resource officer on every campus.
The Cullman County Board of Education has applied for a federal grant totaling $200,000.
If approved, it would add four more resource officers to the school district.
Right now, seven officers cover 15 campuses.
Sheriff Mike Rainey says he has been aggressively pushing for this additional security.
The superintendent’s office says they should hear something by August.
