BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A new study shows that virtual reality may help real-life weight loss.
Researchers had overweight women make a computer model of themselves.
They then watched videos of their virtual selves on treadmills or selecting proper portion sizes.
After four weeks, the women had lost three and a half pounds.
Researchers believe if a person can visualize themselves performing healthy activities it will be easier for them to learn those behaviors.
