HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) – Rainy weather didn’t put a damper on Alabama’s longest-running barbecue festival.
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood celebrated their 64th annual Fourth of July barbecue festival.
The festival offered family fun, delicious food and a massive rummage sale.
“The only reason we’re as good as we are is because it’s got a legacy of good times and a little bit of nostalgia for the folks who come back every year to spend their Fourth of July with us,” Brady Wilson said.
In addition to barbecue, guests also had a chance to win $5,000 in a raffle.
All proceeds from the event benefited Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and its school, as well as other charities associated with the church.
