HELENA, Ala. (WIAT) – Saturday morning was a big deal for the Helena Police Explorers Club.
About 75 bikers met at max motorsports in Pelham and paid 30 bucks a pop to participate in a motorcycle ride to help raise money for the aspiring lawmen.
The money is used for their uniforms and to help pay for the trips they take during the year. one of the young explorers says this is also a training exercise for them.
“It’s going to be a lot of our public appearance and traffic direction. you know with parking the motorcycles and getting them lined up and making sure cars are stopped so they can get through.”
It’s not just the Helena Explorers that get a big lift out of this.
Most of the bikers participating are associated with either the police or the military.
So they say it’s great to be able to give back by riding.
