CALERA, Ala. (WIAT) – More than a billion dollars is being pumped into repairing and replacing state roads and bridges.
Governor Robert Bentley announced the $372 million project in Calera Wednesday morning.
Bentley says ATRIP, the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program, is helping rejuvenate the state’s infrastructure.
The work will help attract new industries.
Shelby and Jefferson counties will get the largest influx of cash in the CBS42 viewing area.
Each will spend around $23 million on repairs.
