BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Former Birmingham police officer Curtis Thornton was sentenced to 100 years in prison on Thursday morning.
Thornton was sentenced on arson convictions relating to six fires in Warrior and Ensley in 2012.
He was found guilty of four counts of second-degree arson, one count of attempted second-degree arson and first-degree criminal mischief on June 13.
Thornton was sentenced to 20 years on all of his four counts of second-degree arson and 10 years for the two other charges.
