MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) — Budget cuts may soon lead to layoffs in the Alabama court system.
Chief Justice Roy Moore says the budget cuts put a burden on the court system.
“We don’t have security that we used to have, we don’t have personnel that we used to have, and naturally the court moves slower when there’s a lack of funding,” Moore said.
Moore disagrees with the decisions of lawmakers and Governor Robert Bentley to fund the state’s Pre-K program over other programs.
He says the court system should not be underfunded.
