FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) – The Fairfield Fire Department returned to Chateau Glen Oaks Apartments Monday morning to connect the dots on what started a blaze that destroyed 12 units Sunday afternoon.
Many residents say when fire crews arrived it was quite some time before they actually began to spray the flames. They also claim help from other fire stations was slow to arrive.
Fire Chief Kevin Sutton vows to investigate their claims.
“Every allegation that they made, I am personally going to investigate. We’re pulling our 911 tapes, we’ll know what our response times were. We will review our protocol, I’ll get a statement from everyone that was on the scene,” said Sutton.
The red cross is actively assisting all of the families displaced from fire.
