HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) – It’s been just a few weeks since the Hoover City School system made the decision to end bus service for regular education students in 2014.
On Thursday evening, the school district will hold a public forum so they can hear the concerns of parents and students.
The forum is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Spain Park High School.
School leaders say they have no other option but to cut bus service.
The move will save the district more than $2.5 million a year.
It also means about 100 bus drivers will be out of a job.
Parents will be forced to find alternate ways to get their children to and from school, causing potential traffic nightmares in the area.
