BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT)– We all know the importance of donating blood, but Saturday, dozens of people turned out to give a pint for a very special little girl. Four months ago, Morgan Grace Fields was born with tar syndrome. To stay alive, she has had to have multiple blood and platelet transfusions. Through this process, her family has realized how critical and important even a single pint of blood can be to a person in need. They hope the drive in Morgan’s name at LifeSouth Community Blood Center will be the first of many.
