AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) – It was the final day of Fall camp in Auburn and Pullman,Washington as well. We know Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn loves to go fast.
But during his best season at Texas Tech, Mike Leach’s team averaged 60 passes a game.
Leach is now at Washington State and he hopes to hit that number when they play Auburn in the opener.
His quarterback Connor Halliday is trying to turn the page from their upset win over Washington to the showdown on the plains.
“I was talking with our team the other day in a meeting and I was just telling everybody just to worry about that Saturday,” said Halliday. “Everybody has talked about bowl games around here for the last 8 years..frankly nothing has gotten done,” said Halliday.
Leach says his team is ready to go now that Fall camp has ended.
“We’ve gotta polish everything up,” said Leach. “I mean as the work load goes down the timing will become sharper. We just gotta be ready to do that and stay real focused and have real good work,” said Leach.
