TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – The Alabama student body will dive into another semester of fall classes Wednesday.
Before the semester begins, though, some of the school’s newest students are making an impact on their new town.
They are involved in an event, called “Ripple Effect”, which is hosted by the University of Alabama’s Community Service Center.
In all, 150 incoming freshman are participating in the event.
Freshman are spending the day volunteering all over Tuscaloosa with Habitat for Humanity, the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter and the YMCA.
The Capstone is also in the middle of a series of fun events for new and old students as a part of the school’s Week Of Welcome program.
