Tuscaloosa voting controversy continues


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — One candidate will contest, and the other is throwing in the towel.

It’s a new development in the controversy surrounding the Tuscaloosa Municipal Election.

Amid allegations of illegal activities and irregular voter registrations, two school board candidates have been considering their options since the results of the August 27th election were made official on Tuesday.

Kelly Horwitz has now filed to formally contest the election, while school board chair candidate, Denise Hills says she is officially out of the race.

We’ll explain how and why both candidates arrived at their decisions on CBS42 News at 6.
