BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT)– Hundreds of people laced up their sneakers today to take a jog for a good cause. Participants ran in the 22nd Annual Magic City AIDS Walk and 5k Run at Avondale Park. Others took a slower stroll while carrying red balloons to raise awareness for AIDS. Organizers say they hoped to eliminate the stigma that’s attached to the disease. Other organizations also offered free health screenings. For more information about Birmingham AIDS Outreach, click here.
