CARBON HILL, Ala. (WIAT) – Carbon Hill Mayor James Richardson bonded out of jail on Friday.
His bond was changed from a $250,000 cash bond to a $250,000 property bond at a hearing Friday afternoon.
Richardson had nothing to say before or after his bond reduction hearing. His attorney Ken Guin told the judge he is indigent and in gravely poor health.
Guin says his client has a pacemaker and is a severe diabetic. He claims Richardson would have died in jail if he couldn’t have bonded out.
A judge said Richardson or his family cannot have access to city hall or its employees, the jail or its inmates.
He also cannot contact any potential witnesses.
