Rain impacts start of the holiday weekend

Rain may linger into the Saturday for parts of Alabama.  However, by late Saturday and for Easter, clear skies return with the promise of warmer weather.  A low pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico pushes slowly east into Georgia.  However, some of the clouds and rain will “wrap-around:” the low, leaving East Alabama cloudy, cool and even wet through mid-day Saturday.  Eventually, the whole mess slides east and sunny skies return for Easter.

Overnight, cloudy and cool with some light rain possible east of I-65.  Overnight lows in the upper 40s and low 50s.  Saturday starts cloudy with some light rain possible in east Alabama through early afternoon.  Otherwise, partly cloudy skies with gradual clearing by late afternoon.  Mild with highs approaching the low 70s, except in East Alabama where the mercury may not make it out of the 60s.  Saturday night should be mostly clear with lows in the low 50s.  Easter Sunday brings back sunshine and warmer temperatures with highs in the upper 70s.  Monday sees a return of partly cloudy skies with increasing clouds by late in the day.  Highs in the upper 70s.  Good chance for widespread thunderstorms, but not severe weather Tuesday with highs in the mid 70s.

Have a great weekend, doing whatever gets you going and a wonderful holiday!
