BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Tensions are flaring with the residents of Marks Village. They say the Housing Authority on the campus of the complex is being less than accommodating, and they’ve had enough.
While some residents are calling it quits, others are scrambling to get back their sense of normalcy, days after this catastrophe interrupted their lives. But residents feel they’ve been forgotten. Alisa Muhammad says she’s been staying with a relative since being displaced days ago. She’s hoping to have her three children settled before Christmas, but the housing authority isn’t making it an easy task.
“I’m ready to rest I’m ready for all this to be over with and we just need resources or somebody to come out here and talk for us, because they’re doing us wrong.” - Alisa Muhammad, Marks Village resident
Other residents say the administration is giving them the run around. Security guarded the Housing Authority’s doors, and our efforts to get comment from them were unsuccessful
