Cottondale woman attacked by dog

COTTONDALE, Ala. (WIAT) – An elderly woman in Tuscaloosa County may never regain the use of one of her feet after living through a dog attack.

The attack happened on Clements Road in Cottondale Tuesday afternoon.

According to witnesses, the woman they all know as Sylvia was walking down the road when one of the dogs attacked her.

Neighbors helped get the dogs off of her and called for help.

“One had her by the foot and the other two little white ones was just eating her,” said Tina Stanley. “I don’t know if she’s got any more bites on her. Her grandson said she didn’t.”

One woman says dogs roam the area but have never attacked anyone before.

Three dogs are being quarantined at the Tuscaloosa Animal Shelter.

Investigators say another dog escaped before it could be captured.
