Tuesday was a long day for the Lipscomb Fire Department and its chief. In the span of three and a half house, Chief John Lawrence was fired and subsequently got his unpaid job back.

A suspect was in custody after gunfire erupted at an Atlanta-area elementary school where dramatic television footage showed young students racing out of the building, being escorted by teachers and police.
